BSBAGU was organized in 1991 to give northern California domestic well owners and farmers who are totally dependent on groundwater a representative voice in the state water planning process (where only agencies and associations have a place at the table).
"The Department of Water Resources opinion that our groundwater is a "neglected, under-utilized resource" will lead to increasing use of our water for beneficial use in other areas of the State.
"If we do not participate in the process, others will take control through legislative and administrative means. We will lose the opportunity to protect our agriculture, domestic water supplies and way of life from the demand of politically and economically powerful interests outside the Butte-Sutter Basin."
